There are no fees for Paypal Giving Fund donations, so 100% of your contribution goes towards our charitable aims.
If you prefer to pay monthly, you can also donate via the standard Paypal interface or the Kindlink platform (although they charge a fee for donation processing):
To understand how donations are used, please see below.
If you’d like to make a large donation, please contact us – we’re incredibly grateful for any amount you would like to donate, this just allows us to carry out due diligence for large donations.
Other ways to support us
For an easier, greener alternative to cards – and one that also helps our work reach as many people as possible in Devon and the wider region – send an e-card donation!
Through Exeter-based startup Don’t send me a card’s brilliant platform you can gift us a donation of the cost of the cards (or more, if you’d like). It’s better for our planet and we’ve had a great time designing some unique (glitter-free!) cards for you to pick from, for a range of occasions throughout the year!
Don’t send me a card also has a great corporate scheme, allowing you to send branded and tracked e-cards, with an estimation of your carbon saved – and the cost donated to Exeter Science Centre.
You can also support us through Easyfundraising – register for free and click through the site whenever you’re going to make an online purchase on a participating retailer. This doesn’t cost you anything, but it makes a big difference for us!

How does my donation contribute?
We became a registered charity (Charitable Incorporated Organisation) in April 2021 with registered charity number: 1194239. All donations, along with any other income that we receive from grants or payments, go towards our charitable aims: to make the science centre organisation and run its activities for the public, and create the science centre building and everything in it. This includes things like (reasonable) staff salaries, costs for creating exhibits and running events in schools or in public, and fees for necessary professional services (like accountants or consultants, where we can’t do these activities ourselves).
We’re dedicated to making the Exeter Science Centre for public benefit. We publish the details of our income and expenditure in full in our Annual Report (small donations from individuals are of course anonymous) – if you’d like to see our latest accounts and annual report, you can find this on the Charity Commission website here.
